토요일에 친구와 한강에 가려고 했어요.
그런데 아침부터 비가 많이 와서 계획을 바꿔야 했어요.
저는 친구에게 바로 연락했고, 우리는 밖에 나가는 대신 실내에서 시간을 보내기로 했어요.
처음에는 조금 아쉬웠지만, 가까운 전시회에 가 보니까 생각보다 재미있었어요.
전시를 본 후에는 조용한 카페에 가서 따뜻한 차를 마셨어요.
원래 계획과 달랐지만, 다행히 하루가 만족스러웠어요.

-(으)려고 하다 is used to talk about an intention or plan.
2. 그런데 아침부터 비가 많이 와서 계획을 바꿔야 했어요.
아침부터 = from the morning
비가 많이 와서 = because it rained a lot
계획을 바꿔야 했어요 = had to change the plan
-아/어서 can show a reason. -아/어야 하다 means “have to.”
3. 저는 친구에게 바로 연락했고, 우리는 밖에 나가는 대신 실내에서 시간을 보내기로 했어요.
밖에 나가는 대신 = instead of going outside
실내에서 시간을 보내기로 했어요 = decided to spend time indoors
대신 means “instead.” -기로 하다 means “to decide to do something.”

English Translation
On Saturday, I was planning to go to the Han River with a friend.
But it rained a lot from the morning, so we had to change the plan.
I contacted my friend right away, and we decided to spend time indoors instead of going outside.
At first, I felt a little disappointed, but when we went to a nearby exhibition, it was more interesting than expected.
After seeing the exhibition, we went to a quiet cafe and drank warm tea.
It was different from the original plan, but fortunately, the day was satisfying.
