다음 달에 이사를 해야 해서 요즘 새 집을 찾고 있어요.
지금 사는 집은 조용하지만 회사에서 조금 멀어요.
그래서 퇴근 후에 부동산 앱으로 방을 찾아봤어요.
마음에 드는 집이 하나 있어서 토요일에 직접 보러 갔어요.
방은 생각보다 작았지만 햇빛이 잘 들어오고 지하철역도 가까웠어요.
월세는 조금 비쌌지만 출퇴근 시간이 줄어들 것 같아서 고민이 됐어요.
계약하기 전에 한 번 더 확인해 보고 결정하려고 해요.

1. 다음 달에 이사를 해야 해서 요즘 새 집을 찾고 있어요.
이사를 해야 해서 = because I have to move
요즘 = these days
새 집을 찾고 있어요 = I am looking for a new place
-아/어야 하다 means “have to.” -고 있다 is used for an action in progress.
2. 지금 사는 집은 조용하지만 회사에서 조금 멀어요.
조용하지만 = is quiet, but
회사에서 조금 멀어요 = is a little far from work
-지만 means “but.” 지금 사는 집 means “the house/place I live in now.”
3. 그래서 퇴근 후에 부동산 앱으로 방을 찾아봤어요.
퇴근 후에 = after work
부동산 앱으로 = through a real estate app
방을 찾아봤어요 = looked for a room/place
-아/어 보다 means “to try doing something.” In 찾아보다, it means “to look up” or “to search for.”
4. 마음에 드는 집이 하나 있어서 토요일에 직접 보러 갔어요.
토요일에 = on Saturday
직접 보러 갔어요 = went to see it in person
마음에 들다 means “to like” or “to be pleased with something.” -(으)러 가다 means “to go in order to do something.”
5. 방은 생각보다 작았지만 햇빛이 잘 들어오고 지하철역도 가까웠어요.
햇빛이 잘 들어오고 = sunlight came in well, and
지하철역도 가까웠어요 = the subway station was also close
생각보다 means “more than expected” or “compared to what I thought.” 도 means “also” or “too.”
6. 월세는 조금 비쌌지만 출퇴근 시간이 줄어들 것 같아서 고민이 됐어요.
출퇴근 시간이 줄어들 것 같아서 = because I thought my commute time would become shorter
고민이 됐어요 = I felt unsure / I had a hard time deciding
-(으)ㄹ 것 같다 means “I think...” or “it seems like...” 고민이 되다 means “to feel unsure” or “to have a hard time deciding.”
7. 계약하기 전에 한 번 더 확인해 보고 결정하려고 해요.
한 번 더 = one more time
확인해 보고 = check and see
결정하려고 해요 = I am planning to decide
-기 전에 means “before doing something.” -(으)려고 하다 is used to talk about an intention or plan.
English Translation
I have to move next month, so these days I am looking for a new place.
The place I live in now is quiet, but it is a little far from work.
So after work, I searched for a place through a real estate app.
There was one place I liked, so I went to see it in person on Saturday.
The room was smaller than expected, but it got good sunlight, and the subway station was also close.
The rent was a little expensive, but I thought my commute time would become shorter, so I felt unsure.
Before signing the contract, I am going to check one more time and then decide.
