The TodayKorean Philosophy
Most Korean Learners Don’t Need More Apps.
They Need Structure.
Many Korean learners spend months memorizing phrases, switching between apps, and relying on romanization - without ever truly understanding how Korean works.
TodayKorean was created to offer a more structured and thoughtful approach to learning Korean through sentence building, clear progression, and real understanding.

Why Many Korean Learners Struggle
- Memorizing phrases without understanding sentence structure
- Depending too much on romanization
- Learning vocabulary without learning how to build sentences
- Jumping between disconnected apps, videos, and resources
- Feeling progress emotionally, but not practically
TodayKorean focuses on structured progression, sentence construction, reading practice, and long-term understanding - not passive memorization.

About the Founder
I’m Hyunku Lee, the founder and teacher behind TodayKorean.
I originally studied design and began my career as a designer, but my growing interest in education led me to move into Korean language teaching. Drawing on years of experience teaching learners from around the world, I created TodayKorean to provide the structure, clarity, and consistent practice that many independent learners are missing.
Why I Built TodayKorean
For a long time, I struggled with language learning myself.
There was always an overwhelming amount of material, fast-paced teaching, and explanations that never helped me truly understand how the language worked. Eventually, I gave up more than once.
But while teaching Korean, I started understanding English more deeply as well. And I realized something important:
Most learners do not lack talent.
They lack a clear, structured way to learn.
Simple explanations, repeated sentence practice, and enough time to truly absorb the language can completely change the learning experience.
